Night Radian Wingtip Light kit Installation

Begin by peeling back the diffusion tape to uncover the outermost 5 LEDs on the wingtip. Continue to peel the tape back until you can see the copper solder pads next to the 5th LED. You can fold the tape back onto itself and stick it down to the wing to hold it back out of the way while you work.

If there is a connector on the end of the wire on the new wingtip LED strip, cut it off, then strip the ends of the wires about 1/8” (about 3mm). Tin the ends of the wires with solder.

Tin the 3 copper pads that are inboard of the 5th LED from the tip of the wing. Then solder the 3 wires to the 3 copper pads in the order shown:

Red - +5v
White - Din
Black - GND

Make completely sure none of the wires are touching each other and there is no excess solder bridging the connections.

Lay the new LED strip down onto the wing with the LEDs facing into the foam, about 1/4” (6mm) from the leading edge. Align the end of the LED strip with the end of the existing wing LEDs as shown.

Cover the LED strip with a piece of 2” clear packing tape, making sure the LED strip is pressed tightly against the foam. You can wrap the excess tape over the leading edge of the wing to make sure it’s secure.

Secure the diffusion tape back down over the wing LEDs, making sure it is flat and has no wrinkles. Then, lay the new LED wires down flat against the wing and secure them with another piece of packing tape. Make sure everything is laying as flat against the wing as possible.

Repeat the procedure on the other wing, and you’re all done!
